1. The World Blockchain Summit Global Series

Held in multiple locations around the world over the course of the year, the World Blockchain Summit Global Series is easily the world’s biggest blockchain-focused global summit. The remaining lineup for 2022 includes:

2. Blockchain Expo Series North America Europe Global

This event series runs two to three times a year in some of the biggest cities in the world. In 2022 all three events are hybrids, with live content streamed online for virtual viewers. Events are taking place in:

Expo Europe in Amsterdam, September 20 and 21

  • Innovations in blockchain ecosystems

Expo Global in London, December 1 and 2

3. North American Bitcoin Conference (NAB)

This is one of the country’s biggest crypto conferences, with a long list of speakers, sessions, and networking and social events packed into its agenda. In 2022 The North American Bitcoin Conference ran over January 16 to 19 and included a keynote from Moe Levin of Keynote Limited and an appearance by billionaire investor Mark Cuban.

The event has grown so quickly, the city of Miami officially recognized Miami Blockchain Week, which includes The NAB Conference as well as a number of satellite events, including job fairs, meetups, hackathons, and more.

Much of the event’s live content is livestreamed and recorded, and a virtual pass is available for people who can’t make the event in person. Virtual tickets include online networking and virtual booths, along with live speakers and presentations.

4. ETHDenver

The world’s longest-running Ethereum-focused event, ETHDenver brings together developers, designers, and enthusiasts. This crypto conference typically runs over February and March and is a several-weeks-long multi-venue event that brings together a wide cross-section of the crypto community.

Aimed primarily at blockchain designers, developers, and enthusiasts, ETHDenver features open-source presentations, workshops, collaborative projects, networking, and more. ETHDenver is free to attend, but both live and virtual attendees must complete a short application process. 5. Bitcoin Miami/Amsterdam

Hosted by Bitcoin Magazine, this annual cryptocurrency event has been running in Miami since 2011. Now, along with the Miami event, the magazine is also hosting an event in Amsterdam in partnership with crypto group Amsterdam Decentralized.

The Miami arm of the event is typically held in April. In 2022 speakers included PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel, activist Yeonmi Park, and Shark Tank star and Bitcoin investor Kevin O’Leary. Although few details have been released concerning the 2023 event, tickets go on sale around the beginning of July. This year’s Amsterdam event promises to be equally exciting. It will be the biggest Bitcoin conference in Europe, with three stages, along with open source workshops, education content, a music festival, and more.

6. IEEE International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency

The IEEE International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency (ICBC) 2023 will be the fifth annual iteration of this event, and it’s getting bigger and better every year.

In 2022 the event was held in Shanghai, China from May 2 to 5, and was staged as a fully virtual event. Keynote speakers included Dr. Wen Tong, Professor Eswar Prasad, and Professor Dawn Song, and the event program included technical sessions and poster sessions, plus a panel discussion on decentralized finance. In addition, a series of tutorials featured topics such as blockchain scaling, blockchain data analysis, and Ripple XRP ledger.

The 2023 lineup hasn’t yet been announced, but it’s sure to be full of fascinating and educational presentations.

7. NFT NYC

It’s been referred to as “the new CES for NFTs” and the “Superbowl of NFTs.” It’s NFT NYC, a community-focused event that in 2023 will hold its fifth annual event. This gathering is all about giving voice to the NFT community, with its primary goal being to platform as many speakers as possible.

In June 2022 NFT NYC speakers included software developers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and artists over a packed four-day schedule. With everything from NFT-development workshops to fashion brands in the metaverse, this event offers a wide range of content to dip into. Look for this event around June 2023, with details of next year’s speakers and other content appearing over the coming months.

8. Blockchain Virtual Summit

The Blockchain Virtual Summit is a fully virtual event, where content is created expressly for the format. It’s packed with live and on-demand content, with inspiring and informative speakers, real insight from real-life use-cases, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities.

9. CoinDesk Consensus

This crypto conference is hosted by CoinDesk, another industry magazine. CoinDesk Consensus typically runs in June, and in 2022 was staged in Austin, Texas from June 9 through 12. Most content was also available to virtual viewers.

The 2022 speaker lineup included

10. The Science of Bitcoin Conference

This event focuses on the tech side of the blockchain. Attendees typically worke in research-based positions in related industries. In 2022 The Science of Bitcoin Conference runs from August 29 to 31 at the Arrillaga Alumni Center at Stanford University in California. The main focus of the event is practical blockchain applications, including:

  • Empirical analysis

11. Future Blockchain Summit

The Future Blockchain Summit is the biggest single cryptocurrency event in the Middle East/North African Region. In 2022 it’s in Dubai, at the Dubai World Trade Center, running from October 10 to 13. This year the event is co-located with GITEX GLOBAL and Fintech SURGE, among other events, with over 100,000 attendees from 170 countries attending.

Over four days, the Future Blockchain Summit agenda is packed with blockchain conference programming, workshops, and networking events. Topics of focus this year include blockchain for enterprise, the future of digital assets, and the metaverse. Speakers include:
